Revisiting Teaching Philosophy:

As an educator, my goal is to make sure every student feels valued, respected, and encouraged to stretch their minds and grow their creativity. I strive to create a curriculum that’s personalized for each student’s unique needs, interests, and abilities. I view my role as not just a teacher, but also a mentor—someone students can turn to for guidance and support when they need it. Learning is about more than academics; it’s about growing as people and building resilience, confidence, and a sense of belonging.

I understand that not every day is easy, but I truly believe that by fostering a space of trust and mutual respect, we can face those challenges together. My classroom will be a place where students feel comfortable participating, making mistakes, and exploring new ideas without fear of judgment.

Communication:

I am always available to discuss any concerns, answer questions, or simply chat about your child's progress. The best way to reach me is via email at katesolway765@gmail.com. After our initial conversation, we can explore other communication methods if necessary. I will also be calling families throughout the year to share updates on their child's success.

Parent-teacher conferences will be scheduled throughout the year, but I’m happy to meet with parents whenever needed. I am open to spontaneous meetings if something comes up—I’m here to support both students and families!

I love to work with families to ensure that students are getting the best possible experience. If you’re interested in getting more involved, I can help connect you to opportunities either at the school or directly with your child’s learning journey.
